![]() 6 Roberto Carlos
Position: Defender A left-back in name only, Roberto Carlos is in reality a left-winger who plays a bit deeper. The power of his left foot is legendary, and his free-kicks are often unstoppable - as France keeper Fabien Barthez famously found out in 1997 - but are in truth equally likely to end up in row Z as the back of the net. One of Real Madrid's famous Galacticos, he has enjoyed more success than most at the club, being a firm favourite with the fans for his bold attacking style. As a player, he has won everything there is to win, culminating in a magical 2002 where he won the World Cup with Brazil just weeks after clinching the Champions League with Madrid. Brazil's second most-capped player, Roberto Carlos is another hugely experienced World Cup player, heading to his third tournament. He will be 33 by the time the tournament begins, and may view this as his last chance to add a second World Cup winner's medal to his impressive collection of silverware.
