Cicinho - Cafu's successor?
13 Cicinho

Position: Defender
Born: 24.06.80
Club: Al Ittihad

Cicinho is an attacking right-back very much in the Cafu mould, and at 25, he is seen as the AC Milan man's natural heir.

He has never stayed at one club for long, with two spells at Atletico Mineiro, one year at Botafogo before signing for Sao Paolo in 2004.

It was at the Morumbi stadium that he made his name and was called up to the Brazil side in April 2005 for a match with Guatemala.

He played at both right-back and as a winger in his time at Sau Paulo, and caught the eye of European clubs whilst playing in the 2005 Confederations Cup with a series of electrifying performances.

Manchester United showed strong interest, but Real Madrid came calling and he signed an agreement to join them midway through the 2005/2006 season for £2.75million.

Before he moved on he just had time to help Sau Paulo to a World Club Championship, beating Liverpool 1-0 in the final in Japan.

Whilst Cafu may still be the main man at right-back for Brazil, the future of that position looks safe with Cicinho.
