 Roque Junior
Roque Junior is an experienced defender who will be hoping to partner Lucio in central defence during the World Cup. A mixed club career has included an £11million move to AC Milan as well as a disastrous loan spell in the Premiership with Leeds but he is currently plying his trade in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen. Despite an indifferent domestic career, Roque Junior has been inspirational for Brazil and has captained the side on numerous occasions in Cafu's absence. He was a key member of the side that won the last World Cup but has been in and out of Brazil's side during qualifying as Carlos Alberto Parreira searches for the perfect partner for Lucio. Roque Junior is a tall, strong defender but lacks pace and, like Lucio, can be prone to defensive errors that often prove costly.
