The 24-year-old plies his trade in Germany for unfashionable Arminia Bielefeld, who he joined while they were in 2.Bundesliga before helping them win promotion back to the top flight for the 2004/2005 season.

This term Boakye has been regularly finding the net and has become a significant figure in a Bielefeld side who are gradually becoming an established force in Germany's Bundesliga.
