Position: Defender Gabriel Issah Ahmed heads to Germany knowing he has a lot to prove to the Ghanaian people. The lasting memory of Issah in the recent African Nations Cup was his own goal in the dramatic 2-1 defeat at the hands of Zimbabwe which eliminated the Black Stars at the group stage despite being one of the tournament's favourites. It was a huge disappointment for the young defender who was also at fault for the Warriors' second goal in that game and all his hard work of claiming a place in Ghana's side during the World Cup qualifying campaign seemed a distant memory. Apart from his showing in Egypt, Issah is usually a competent defender who has the pace to keep up with the World's fastest strikers. Issah plies his trade in Denmark for Randers FC, who he joined in January 2006 after impressing immensely at Kotoko in his homeland. This summer he will be looking to banish the memory of the last major tournament and contribute to Ghana's mean backline.
