Emmanuel Pappoe is a fearless character who plays an integral role in Ghana's stringent defence.

The 25-year-old may not be the tallest or most powerful of defenders but he makes up for this with a dogged determination - a key facet of the Ghanaian backline.

In fact the contribution of Pappoe was one of the underlying reasons why the Black Stars conceded just four goals during the World Cup qualifying phase.

Although Pappoe's displays in the African Nations Cup were slightly disappointing as the Black Stars crashed out at the group stage, he will be remembered for a vicious lunge on Papa Bouba Diop which proves not even the most awesome of physiques will faze him.

Pappoe is another Ghanaian to play his domestic football in Israel but Hapoel Kfar Sava could be in danger of losing their hard-working defender if he continues to impress in Germany this summer.
