Robben - flying Dutchman.

Position: Midfielder
Born: 23.01.84

Chelsea winger Arjen Robben will be a major threat for Holland at the World Cup, with pace, an ability to glide past defenders, and a good eye for goal.

Robben started his professional career at Groningen and made his debut in 2000 at just 16. He went on to win their player of the season award that year.

He joined Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven at the end of his first season for £2.6million but was immediately loaned back to Groningen for another year.

The 2002/03 season saw Robben in a PSV shirt for the first time as a string of outstanding performances helped them on their way to the title.

His Holland debut came in April 2003 against Portugal and he was part of the squad that lost in the semi-finals of Euro 2004 to the same team.

Along with Wayne Rooney, Robben was one of the star performers at the tournament, with his audacity out wide demonstrating just what a talent Chelsea has captured.

His £12million move to Stamford Bridge had already been sealed prior to Euro 2004 and after an injury-hit start he ignited Chelsea's season.

The Blues went on to win the Premiership, the League Cup, and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

He has become an important player for both club and country, and at his electrifying best, is difficult to stop.
