It seems a long time since Christian Vieri was the world's most expensive player after signing for Inter Milan for £32million.

It's no longer the world record and he's no longer one of the world's top players but Vieri is still a huge threat in front of goal and will always be remembered as one of the game's great strikers.

The 33-year-old was a revelation for Inter Milan, scoring 102 goals in just 143 appearances for the club but after a fantastic six-year spell, Vieri left the club in July 2005 to join up with Milan rivals AC.

However, Vieri made just eight appearances for the Rossoneri and joined French side Monaco after just six months to try and secure a place in the 2006 World Cup squad.

He will be hoping to do enough to force his way into Fabio Capello's plans and add to his 23 goals for Italy.
