Morgan de Sanctis made his debut for Pescara when he was just 17 and was first-choice keeper for three years before Juventus signed him in 1997.

At the Stadio Delle Alpi he was third choice behind Angelo Peruzzi and Michelangelo Rampulla and made only a handful of appearances.

In 1999 Udinese snapped him up but it still took him until 2002 to become No1, eventually ousting Luigi Turci.

He was instrumental in helping Udinese qualify for the Champions League in 2005 and has attracted interest from a number of clubs.

De Sanctis made his Italy debut in March 2005 against Iceland and will provide cover for first-choice Gianluigi Buffon.
