Cyrille Domoraud is the senior figure in an Ivory Coast side that has seen an explosion of young talent in recent years and has led a distinguished career that has seen him play top-flight football in France, Turkey, Spain and Italy.

Domoraud began his career at his current club Creteil in France before embarking on a tour of Europe that would see him play for Red Star 93, Bordeaux, Marseille, Inter Milan, Bastia, Monaco, Konyaspor and Espanyol before returning to where it all began.

While at Marseille he played in the 1999 UEFA Cup final and while his dream move to Inter did not work out quite as he would have liked, he restored his reputation at Bastia.

With over 50 caps to his name, Domoraud is now primarily a central defender but in his younger years could also play at full-back.

It was under his captaincy that Robert Guei's Ivorian military junta decided that their performances had shamed the nation when they went out in the group stage of the 2000 African Nations Cup.

Domoraud and his team-mates were forced to march around like new recruits and were given lectures in patriotism.

But despite that, Domoraud has been a fantastic servant to his country and his experience will be vital in a young squad.
