Mexico have never been past the quarter-finals at the World Cup finals, and this year will probably be no different.

It is not exactly a vintage crop of Mexican talent, but they do have a few standout players.

Jared Borgetti has struggled for playing time at Bolton this season, but he has done well when called upon and scored vital goals in the UEFA Cup.

He is Mexico's all-time leading scorer and is a good finisher who will cause defences problems in the air.

Barcelona's Rafael Marquez will sit in front of a competent defence and make them a difficult team to break down.

Goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez is highly rated and was in good form during qualifying.

They have some excellent young players, but this World Cup has come too soon for many of them.

Mexico should qualify from a weak group, but will struggle against the better sides.
