13 Guillermo Ochoa

Position: Goalkeeper
Born: 13.07.85
Club: Club America

Despite his young age, Francisco Guillermo Ochoa has the ability to emulate Mexico's goalkeeping legends like Antonio Carbajal and the flamboyant Jorge Campos at this summer's World Cup.

The 20-year-old picked up his first international cap just last December in Mexico's 2-0 friendly victory over Hungary in Phoenix, Arizona.

But to get a realistic chance in Germany, Ochoa will need to rely on current number one Oswaldo Sanchez slipping up or suffering an injury setback.

The youngster got his first-team chance at Mexican giants America in 2004 at the Azteca Stadium but instead of freezing with nerves, Ochoa stayed cool and his assured debut helped him on the road to becoming their first-choice.

America dominated 2005 with the help of Ochoa's presence and went an impressive 30 games unbeaten. The Aguilas custodian delivered a virtually flawless season which has earnt him his international call-up.

Although he didn't appeared in the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2005 or the World Cup qualifiers, the friendly appearance against Hungary has given him a platform on which to build on at the highest level.

He will be able to cope should the team need him this summer due to his sensational reflexes, dominance in one-on-ones situations and his commanding presence when taking crosses.
