Axed from the squad under former coach Jo Bonfrere who felt the 30-year-old was "too slow" to cope with the demands of international football, Lee Eul-Young is enjoying a renaissance under Dick Advocaat.

Unlike four years ago when he was assured of a starting berth having played some of the best football of his career in the lead-up to the tournament in Japorea, Lee is on the fringes of the team this time around.

With Kim Dong-Jin the man in possession of the left-back berth and plenty of options on the left of midfield, Lee may find himself starting the tournament on the bench but will no doubt prove himself to be a valuable squad member.

Seemingly always available and well capable of creating and scoring goals when playing either in midfield or as an overlapping full-back, Lee's pace could be used as an attacking weapon if the Koreans are struggling.
