Zuberbuhler - veteran keeper.

Although Pascal Zuberbuhler has been a fine servant for Switzerland between for posts, he may well be identified as a weakness by World Cup opponents.

The veteran goalkeeper still has the capabilities to pull off some fine saves but now he has a reputation for losing his concentration at key moments.

This was exposed most clearly during Switzerland's triumphant play-off against Turkey where they lost the second leg as Zuberbuhler's anxious performance nearly threw their World Cup passport away.

The 35-year-old spent a large part of his career at Grasshoppers, where he won three league titles and a Swiss Cup. After a short spell in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, Zuberbuhler joined Basel, where he starred as they stormed to a domestic double.

Since then the confidence he instils in his defence has dwindled and this season Basle conceded nine goals in just four UEFA Cup group games as they just about scrapped through to the knock-out phase.

Zuberbuhler is the Swiss number one but he will need to roll back the years to prevent his last chance at World Cup success ending in disappointment.
