Santos may be the more famous of Tunisia's Brazilian recruits due to his goalscoring exploits, but it was Clayton who first made it possible for journeymen Brazilians everywhere to dream of one day playing for Tunisia.

The athletic left-back, who has also played in midfield, is now a seasoned campaigner having gained citizenship in time to play in the 1998 World Cup. He also played at Japorea 2002, and in the 2004 and 2006 African Nation's Cups.

Jose Clayton Ribeiro Menezes - to give him his full name - first aquainted himself with the country he now represents when he moved to Etoile du Sahel. A spell at French side Bastia followed, before he returned to Tunisia with Esperance in 2001.
